Betty White Turned 97-Years-Old And Credits Her Long Life To Hot Dogs And Vodka

You don’t have to look far to get advice from medical providers and the media about how to live a long and healthy life. When you take a look at some of those who actually ‘walk the walk’, however, you see that their habits and personalities have been largely responsibly to their success.

Betty White is one of those individuals and she is quick to point out that her love of vodka and hot dogs is what has kept her strong into her 90s. In fact, on January 17, she turned 97 and is still going strong.

White gave an interview recently and talked about how important it is to have a positive attitude:

“Accentuate the positive, not the negative. It sounds so trite, but a lot of people will pick out something to complain about, rather than say, ‘Hey, that was great!’ It’s not hard to find great stuff if you look.”

That outlook on life is part of what has kept her going strong through life. It also holds out hope that she will someday realize getting together with her celebrity crush, Robert Redford.

The man who held the title of America’s oldest living man, Richard Overton, died in December. He said the ice cream and whiskey kept him going. Are you sensing a common theme?

We wish Betty White many more years of health and happiness.
