Blind and autistic contestant leaves viewers in tears with ‘greatest audition’ ever

The audience and judges of America’s Got Talent had a real treat when a blind and autistic contestant took the stage for an inspirational performance. It had such an impact that many on social media are praising it and calling it the greatest audition ever filmed on AGT.

Kodi Lee obviously also had an impact on the judges, as Gabrielle Union hit the Golden Buzzer. He will now be taking his singing and piano playing forward to the live shows in season 14.

Kodi and his mother, Tina were on the show together. His song of choice was ‘A Song For You’ by Dony Hathaway. The judges were impressed from the start.

Prior to getting started, his mother explained: “We found out that he loved music really early on. Through music and performing, he was able to withstand living in this world. Because when you’re autistic, it’s really hard to do what everyone else does. It actually has saved his life, playing music.”

By the time he finished, the audience was on their feet for a standing ovation. Even Simon Cowell had a lot of good to say: “What just happened there was extraordinary. Your voice is absolutely fantastic, you have a really beautiful tone. Thank you so much for trusting us on this show. I’m going to remember this moment for the rest of my life.”

I hope that we get to see a lot more of Kodi in the future.
