Dad Books 6 Flights So His Flight Attendant Daughter Wouldn’t Be Alone On Christmas

Most of us would probably agree that Christmas is a time of year when we should be with family. Admittedly, some people have to be on the job on Christmas day but we often recognize that it is a sacrifice. People such as first responders, doctors, and nurses may not be home for Christmas but there is one person that works that day that we may not think of regularly, flight attendants.

Pierce Vaughan works as a flight attendant for Delta Airlines. Her father, Hal Vaughan decided that she shouldn’t be alone on the holidays. The problem was, Pierce was taking six different flights on Christmas day as well as the day after so being with family was out of the question. Or was it? As it turns out, her father paid to take each of those six flights so he could be with his daughter on Christmas. We can only imagine how difficult this must have been because flying once on Christmas is a royal pain, six times must be a nightmare.

Hal was in first class on their flight from Fort Myers, Florida to Detroit, Michigan. A man by the name of Michael Levy was sitting beside him and he took a selfie of himself, Hal and a picture of Pierce smiling from ear to ear. It was uploaded to Facebook and that is when the father’s deed went viral.

“I had the pleasure of sitting next to Hal on my flight back home,” Levy wrote. “His daughter Pierce was our flight attendant who had to work over Christmas. Hal decided he would spend the holiday with her. So, he is flying on each of her flights today and tomorrow around the country to spend time with his daughter for Christmas. What a fantastic father! Wish you both a very Merry Christmas!”

Levy couldn’t believe how the story spread so quickly.

“I’m happy to share such an amazing story,” he told Scary Mommy. “And I never thought it would get this big, didn’t think I would have 10 shares let alone this!”

Pierce also saw the story and shared it, writing: “Dad’s first trip using his benefits was a success! A special thanks to all of the patient, wonderful gate agents around the country and my perfect crew. He made it on every flight and even got first class RSW-DTW (Christmas miracle). [Shout-out] to Mike Levy for being a great first class passenger & helping us to understand how cool this actually is!”

We can only imagine how happy the Vaughans were to spend Christmas together in the airways. It is nice to see true fatherly dedication in action.
