Denim Panties Are Apparently A Thing Now and They Cost Over $300

Most of us recognize the fact that fashion can change on a dime. What is popular one day is not going to be popular the next and sometimes, it can get really strange out there. We’ve seen many strange trends, such as those that affect the eyebrows, lowrise underwear and dirty sneakers that will drain your wallet very quickly.

People are now saying something similar about these denim shorts (or whatever you want to call them) that are being sold by streetwear retailer Ssense. If you want a pair of these unusual knickers, you can expect to spend £235 for the privilege of wearing them.

There is a silver lining to that cloud. If you spend more than £200, you can have them shipped for free to the UK. You will also be happy to know that they are quite comfortable since they are made from 100% cotton.

If you are still teetering on the edge of whether to buy them or not, perhaps the online description will help: “Denim brief-style shorts in navy. Fading throughout. Mid-rise. Three-pocket styling. Belt-loops at waistband. Copper-tone hardware. Tonal stitching. 100% cotton. Imported.”

These denim panties were shared on Instagram and that is when people really started to come forward with their opinion.

They were shared by Ssense, who wrote: “Two words: Denim panties. The SSENSE editors show you five ways to take your Canadian tuxedo to the next level, featuring @yproject_official, @muglerofficial, @junyawatanabeofficial, and more.”

The comments started flooding in, with one person writing: “I have feelings about this. Intense. Feelings.”

Another person said: “This def ain’t it ladies.”

Someone else said sarcastically: “Chafing is great.”

A fourth added: “Wow these are just horrible.”

There was even a reference to Ariana Grande, when somebody wrote: “Thank you, next.”

Ssense also used Twitter to introduce the pants, which they called ‘Janties’.

You may still have some questions about what exactly is taking place but they seem to be answered on the official blog. It comes in a post entitled: ‘Denim Five Ways: More Than Just Jeans With Y/Project, Mugler, And Junya Watanabe’

It says: “Denim can be cheeky. And eye-catching. These ‘brief-style shorts’ can be worn under or over pants, meaning they’re far more versatile than what you’d traditionally expect from a pair of briefs.

“Underwear that doesn’t need to stay ‘under there’.”

Versatile is an interesting term…

Just in case you can’t get enough denim, you can try some of the other options discussed on the blog, including a contrast denim jacket, a denim paneled skirt, and patchwork jeans.

And the looks just keep coming…
