Divorced Mom Sets Out With Kids On Vacation, Then Son Sees Dad At The Airport

You don’t need anyone to tell you that the divorce rate in the United States is alarming. What many people tend to overlook, however, is the effect that it can have on children. In fact, approximately half of the children are going to experience the divorce of their parents by the time they are 18 years old. 50% of those children are even going to experience a divorce from a second marriage with one of their parents. It really doesn’t matter what your view on divorce is, children deserve better.

The story that we are reviewing today shows that it is not always the worst situation when parents get divorced. It may only be a snapshot of an ordinary family but when the event was posted online, it quickly went viral. Laura Dee, the mother was set to take off for vacation with her children to Cyprus. She had a surprise waiting for them at the airport.

Dee explains that her children, Darcie, 11 and Callum, 9 thought that it would only be the three of them going away to the Mediterranean. When they got to the airport, they saw their father, Dean Bone waiting at the terminal. The surprise was that their father was going on vacation with them.

This scenario may not seem all that out of focus to some but perhaps what is most surprising is that they were not divorced, they were separated. There were no longer together but they decided to co-parent in the best way they could.

The children were absolutely thrilled with the surprise of seeing their dad at the airport. This doesn’t often happen with divorced or separated parents getting together and going off on vacation as the guardians of the children. It is clear to see that Dee and Bone are doing all that they can to keep things together in the best way possible for their children.

The mother, Laura Dee gave an interview and made a statement about divorced parents that many people can relate to: “As parents seeing our children upset is hard, all we want is to make our children happy. Co-parenting is hard for many people but we are proud of what we have achieved with bringing our children up.”

Now that you know the background, you can see the surprise for yourself. As you watch the video below, you can’t help but he touched with what they are doing for their children.
