Dog Accidentally Takes Part In Half-Marathon After Mom Lets Her Out For Pee, Finishes 7th Place

Marathon running is a hugely satisfying hobby. We get to spend lots and lots of time preparing for the big day and for most of us, the true reward is the journey. The dog in this clip has a completely different take on the matter. She did not need to train for this marathon and quite frankly, she does not know what all of this fuss is about.

This story took place at the Elkmont Trackless Train Half Marathon. All of the runners who were on hand had prepared themselves for a highly grueling race that unfold over the course of 13.5 miles. Ludivine is a dog who just happened to be let out so that she could find a decent place to pee. The Bloodhound ended up being an accidental participant.

Working on results…Wanted to share this photo of that was sent to me after the race. ????This is Ludivane – she ran the entire half marathon and finished 7th overall with a time of 1:32.56

Her owners did not mean for this to happen. The dog was let out in their own yard. However, she saw all of the runners and knew that she had to get in on the fun. Her running was so fast, she was even able to stop for a few detours. She stopped to play with some local cows and even located a dead rabbit. Of course, she had to take a break to do some sniffing.

Can you believe that she still managed to finish in the top 10? Ludivine did not ever start the race on time and she was able to finish in 7th place. This is one dog that is definitely earning their participation ribbon. April Hamlin is the dog’s owner and she was stunned. It is not every day that your dog runs off and nearly wins a marathon without even trying.

April’s main worry was Ludivine potentially impeding the runners who had trained so hard. The laid back dog was a huge hit, though. No one minded her presence at all. The pictures of her “competing” are absolutely priceless. The Facebook photo album of the dog’s entrance into the race got a ton of shares and we are certainly not surprised by this.

What did you think of this dog’s racing technique? If you are anything like us, you would have had a tough time finishing this run. This is one of the best stories that we have seen in some time. In a world that is chock full of bad news, these stories serve as a beacon of light. Please take a moment to pass this story along to your closest friends and loved ones.
