Jimmy and Stevie are the best of friends. To say that they have a lifelong bond is an understatement. Stevie is blind and he relies on Jimmy heavily. Jimmy is a senior dog and the Chihuahua watches over the Shar-Pei vigilantly. The California Shar-Pei Rescue is responsible for housing them. They say that they have never seen a bond quite like this one in all the years.

This rescue has been in existence for 30 years! Jimmy seems to realize that Stevie is blind and prides himself on taking care of him. He sticks to the dog all day long. Handling his every need is his primary objective. If Stevie needs to be bathed or groomed, Jimmy handles it. All he wants is to spend time with his pal. Can you blame him, though?

The two were found together as well. They were strays when they were first taken to a rescue in Ramona but no one would step up to take them home. The two dogs had clearly been living together in the past. That made the lack of willingness even more surprising. How could you possibly deny these cute faces? Luckily, California Shar-Pei Rescue stepped up to the plate.

While they are typically only willing to rescue Shar-Pei dogs, they knew that they could not split up these pups. Jimmy loves to care for his little big brother and his life would not have the same purpose without him. They needed to stay together. He functions as a protector. He also makes sure that his brother stays clean at all times.

They will remain at this shelter for the foreseeable future. The shelter workers are looking to keep them together. A forever home where they can both stay is needed. Stevie has other health problems that need to be considered. He has begun to have seizures. He may need medication for the rest of his life but it is all going to be worth it.
