Dog Reunited With Family 101 Days After Going Missing In California Wildfire

When the California wildfires took place, a number of pet owners were left to wonder if their furry friends were dead or alive. One family had even given up hope entirely. Their precious Kingston had vanished when the fires broke out. Despite their best efforts, they were initially unable to locate the pooch. What happened next will certainly surprise you.

The dog had been missing for over 100 days. While we would all like to think that our pets would come back to us in a situation like this, no one would have blamed this family for moving on. The Ballejos family was finally reunited with Kingston after a 101 day separation and the clip of their reunion will have you wiping away the tears.

He was roaming around when an animal rescue volunteer found him. It is believed that the dog was able to survive for as long as he did because of his hunting ability. He was probably subsisting on skunks as he waited to head home. The family is beyond proud of their dog, calling him a “true survivor”. They had contacted every shelter and posted a series of flyers.

However, it took a stroke of luck to bring Kingston back home to them. Camp Fire Cats is the local rescue group that is responsible for contacting the family once the dog was finally located. By the time he made his way back to the family, they claim that he still smelled like the skunks that he had been chasing. This dog did whatever it took to survive, that is for sure.

The dog might have smelled like a skunk but that did not stop this family from swarming him with lots and lots of hugs. The reunion that you are about to witness is one of the most touching clips that we have ever seen. Anyone who has ever been kept apart from a loved one for an extended period can certainly relate to this one, we are sure.

If you loved this video as much as we did, it is time to share the love with your closest friends and family members. The California wildfires were a time for many of us to count our blessings and realize how fortunate we are. Hopefully, this family will never have to be apart from Kingston ever again. Kudos to him for finding a way to make it through this awful struggle.
