This photo has been making the rounds online for months now. This dog was abandoned by their owner and left to fend for themselves at a pier in Thailand. Unfortunately, this dog was too loyal to realize what had truly taken place. The animal fell off a boat and their owner never came back for them. She was now a stray and she had to fend for herself.

The local residents say that she has been able to find a place to sleep and scrounge for food. This is not the life that a dog should lead, though. She deserves so much better. She does not want to leave the area, either. Even if someone was willing to take her home, she still believes that her owner is going to come back for her someday. That is the most heartbreaking part of all.

Dogs who have been abandoned are not able to grasp the concept of what has happened. In their minds, their owners still love them very much. Strangers are very kind to this dog but it does not matter. She does not want to go with any of them. She’ll take some food but she still wants to wait by this river. Once the story went viral, people thought that the owner would come back for her.

No such luck, though. She was still stranded without anyone to help her. She began to grow weaker as a result of her living situation. It would not be long before she succumbed to the streets. What a sad, sad story. Thanawan is a local woman who decided that she was going to intervene. She could not stand to see the dog like this.

She was able to develop a rapport with the pooch and slowly gain her trust. In time, the dog came home with her and even got a new name. She is now known as “Tha Reua”, which loosely translates into “pier” in English. Thanawan stood by this dog and provided her with the unconditional love that she so richly deserved.
