Rocky and Spencer have enjoyed many years together. In fact, these two adorable pets were able to spend over 10 years by each other’s sides. All these two ever wanted was to spend time with each other. They did not need much else in life. “They had never spent a night apart,” according to the dogs’ owner, Beth. She says that they would even share a bed and a food dish.

This sort of bond is certainly rare. Even the most tightly knit couples like to spend a few moments apart. Unfortunately, their time together has concluded. Rocky had to be euthanized after the vet’s office discovered a tumor that could not be treated. The family had no choice but to put him to sleep. It was a heartbreaking moment and our hearts go out to them.

After all, no one ever wants to say goodbye to a beloved pet in this way. Rocky had to be put to sleep immediately, to make sure that his suffering was not prolonged. While the family was unable to process the loss right away, they could not even begin to imagine how difficult it would be for his brother. Spencer was distraught and had no way of understanding what took place.

This is one of the toughest parts about watching animals grieve. They do not have the ability to comprehend what has occurred. All Spencer does now is wander the house in search of his lost brother. When he cannot find him, he starts to cry. The dog’s father decided to order Spencer a special pillow, so that he could get over the loss.

The pillow came with a picture of Rocky’s face on it. As you may have guessed, it was an instant hit. The pillow is helping to fill the massive void that Rocky left behind and we are glad to see that it is providing Spencer with some comfort. He cuddles with it every second of the day. The family says that they hardly ever see him without it.

While this is certainly a bittersweet story, Spencer’s reaction to the pillow is making us smile. As they say, no one is ever truly gone from our lives as long as we are able to find a way to remember them. Rocky is always going to remain by his side, no matter what. Even if he is unable to be present in the physical, his spirit lives on.
