A French company is claiming to have invented a pill, which can make farts smell pleasant. The pills have been developed by Christian Poincheval, an inventor, who is based in the western French town of Gesvres. He claims that they can transform all smelly gas emissions into lovely fragrances that resemble chocolate or roses.

Yes you read that correctly – someone has finally invented something that makes farts smell like roses.

According to the official website of the company Lutin Malin – in English that translates to Cunning Imp – he has been at it since 2007.

The claim is that the pill is completely natural, void of anything medical or drug-based. It’s just a “dietary supplement based on natural ingredients” that will make your gas smell good.

The website states, “The Fart Pill is the result of lengthy research and trials and is on sale since 2007. Our fragrant variants also add a touch of humor for any occasion. Our numerous returning customers are no doubt the best proof.”

If you think like this could be a product worth trying, you can purchase it from either the website directly, or from Amazon, and you can get a sachet of 60 pills for less than $30.

There are even some interesting variations, like for example ginger.

Or if you’re feeling festive there’s also seasonal options such as Christmas chocolate or May Day lily.

And, the powders are just reserved for humans, the website also claims that they can be given to your dog as well.

Guess there’ll be no more blaming the dog with these pills, as according to Lutin Malin you can easily sprinkle the powder in with their food and voila.

A few years back, Mr. Poincheval told The Telegraph that his invention was inspired after a particularly smelly dinner party.

“Our farts were so smelly we were nearly suffocated. Something had to be done,” he explained.

And from there he was off, experimenting with ingredients and combinations until the recipe was perfected. And they happen to be quite popular too.

He continued, “I have all sorts of customers. Some buy them because they have problems with flatulence and some buy them as a joke to send to their friends. Christmas always see a surge in sales.”
