I don’t know anybody that would consider having a period to be a convenient occurrence. That is especially true when it is the first one you had and you don’t have any tampons or pads available.
When you find yourself in such a situation, the leak may show for the world to see. It is difficult at any time of life but when you’re a teenager, you can expect some teasing to take place.
What many of us hear are some rather embarrassing jokes about menstruation and the stained pants that go along with it. Then again, there may occasionally be a kindhearted soul who passes you a tampon when you need it the most.
It is practically unheard of that a teenage boy would be the hero in such a scenario. According to one Reddit post, however, a teenage boy was exactly the person who stepped up to the plate when it was most needed.

The young boy noticed that the girl had a stain on her pants when they were riding the bus together. He decided to help her rather than making fun of her.
This is the entire post:
“My daughter started her period on the bus ride home today. A boy a year older than her…that she doesn’t really know…pulled her aside and whispered in her ear that she had a stain on the back of her pants and gave her his sweater to tie around her waist so she could walk off the bus. She said she was kind of embarrassed and originally said it’s okay, but the boy insisted and told her ‘I have sisters, it’s all good!’ If you are this boy’s mom, I want to say thank you and that you are raising him right!! We hear so many bad things about today’s youth and I wanted to share something positive!”
People were happy to hear about the mature lad and the positive exchange that occurred between the teenagers. The boy had true empathy, even though he didn’t know her very well.
This just goes to show how important it is to educate children about the bodies of both genders so situations like this are not singled out in a bad way.
Many other boys his age would not have shown that type of kindness because it may have been perceived as being vulnerable.
Most people agree that this is the best way to raise a child, as a kind and respectful individual.
