Hallmark Is Casting Amateur Bakers For Their New Show, ‘Christmas Cookie Countdown’

While Christmas might be a few months away, the Christmas spirit is already consuming the Hallmark Channel. Network executives are already promising fans of Hallmark Channel more holiday movies than ever for 2019. But at the moment, the Hallmark Channel is preparing for some new holiday programming. In a break from the traditional movie productions, the Hallmark Channel is searching for bakers to participate in a brand-new cooking competition.

“Christmas Cookie Countdown” is going to be a five-episode competition series that features amateur home bakers partaking “in the most exciting yuletide cookie challenges the holiday season has ever seen,” according to the official Hallmark Channel statement.

The Hallmark Channel has said that three well-known pastry chefs – who have not been named yet – will be the judges of the series. But fans of the classic Christmas movies will still be able to enjoy viewing some of their favorite stars hosting the baking show on a rotating host basis.

Besides bragging rights, the “Christmas Cookie Countdown” winner will also take home a nice holiday cash bonus of $25,000.

If this sounds like something you would excel in, you can head to Los Angeles for the auditions, which will be held from July 29th through August 4th.

However, if you’re more “Nailed It” than “Great British Bake Off” you may be in trouble.

Also more good news, two of Hallmark’s new Christmas movies will air this month. You can also get Little Debbie Christmas snack cakes in July now.

The tree cake snacks will be on sale at Walmart, proving that it is never too early to get into the holiday spirit. The tree-shaped yellow cake comes with a creme filling and white frosting that has green sprinkles and red garland frosting. Sounds fun.

The back of the box has the message, “Ho Ho Ho! Mrs. Claus and I love to vacation beside the ocean before the big Christmas season. So, while I had a moment I wanted to send you a quick note to let you know I snuck in a little work as well. I’ve been making my list, checking it twice and so far, the good list is looking great! Keep it up! I hope you have a relaxing summertime. Hang loose!”

If you’re a Christmas nut like me, then you probably should stock up now on your Christmas snacks as well as mark your calendars because the “Christmas Cookie Countdown” is expected to will air later this year on Hallmark Drama, which is one of the many channels of the Hallmark Channel network.
