Here’s How Much Money The ‘Game of Thrones’ Cast Makes Per Episode


Game of Thrones is one of the biggest TV shows around the world, and even though it has come to an end, it’s not surprising that some of the main stars – Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, Lene Headey, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau – were some of the world’s highest paid actors. Let’s face it, Game of Thrones did help launch some careers and make names like Maisie Williams and Gwendoline Christie, household names.

As we say farewell to an iconic show, we look back at how each actor’s paycheck has progressed over the years and which characters have made serious bank while portraying our favourite Westerosi people. 

Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister): $1.2 million per episode

As one of the lead characters since the beginning, it’s not surprising that Peter Dinklage has earned one of the largest salaries on the show. Dinklage is the only cast member to have won an Emmy for his role, having taken home three separate awards for playing the youngest Lannister. He has an estimated net worth of over $15 million, which is also in part to his roles in major films like “Avengers: Infinity War”, “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, “ and “The Angry Birds Movie”.

Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen): $1.2 million per episode

Clarke, who played the mad queen Daenerys Targaryen, was one of the five lead cast members on “Game of Thrones”who negotiated a pay rise for the seventh and eighth season. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Clarke’s estimated net worth is around $13 mullion.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie Lannister): $1.2 million per episode

Coster-Waldau, also known as Jaime Lannister, is also one of the actors paid an incredible $720,000 per episode. In addition to his salary from “Game of Thrones”, most of his earnings come from roles in films like 2017’s “Shot Caller”and “3 Things”, as well as being a face for L’Oréal Paris’s men’s products.

Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister): $1.2 million per episode. 

Headey was paid $1.2 million per episode for her performance as Queen Cersei, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Fox News also did further investigations to discover that Headey appeared in a total of 25 minutes in season eight, meaning she earned an astonishing $69,000 per minute for being onscreen. 

Kit Harrington (Jon Snow): $1.2 million per episode. 

Harrington, who plays the beloved Jon Snow, is one of the characters who has the most screen time, as he appears in the most scenes. As a result, the actor now has an estimated Net Worth of over $12 million. 

Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark): $253,000 per episode. 

According to IndiewireSophie Turner, who portrays Sansa, earns $253,000 per episodeTurner told Harper’s Bazaar US earlier this year that she didn’t mind getting paid less than some of the other characters because she had a smaller role. She said, “Kit got more money than me, but he had a bigger storyline. And for the last series, he had something crazy like 70-night shoots, and I didn’t have that many. I was like, ‘You know what…you keep that money.’” Turner is also a star in “Dark Phoenix”, the new X-Men film.

Maisie Williams (Arya Stark): $253,000 per episode.

Another report by Indiewireshows that Maisie earned a whopping $253,000 per episode of “Game of Thrones”In addition, Williams has also starred in “Doctor Who”, as well as 20th Century Fox’s 2019 X-Men film, “The New Mutants”, which makes up her $6 million net worth. She also has Daisie, her own social media app with film producer, Dom Santree. The two also have a production company called Daisy Chain Productions.
