If you are anything like the rest of the country, then you have probably begun to realize that all of the trash cans we are used to seeing in various public settings are slowly starting to disappear. You are probably also wondering why this is happening. As it turns out, the answer is much simpler than you may have realized and if you would like to learn more? Be sure to read on.
Have you ever taken the time to visit the 9/11 memorial? If so, you have noticed that there are zero trash cans be to be found. This is a conscious decision that has been made in order to prevent another terrorist attack from potentially occurring. Terrorists will regularly utilize trash cans when they need to conceal various explosives.
In fact, this is the same plan that terrorists deployed when they attacked the Boston Marathon in 2013. If there had not been any trash cans in close proximity, it is very likely that their plan would have been foiled. With the use of trash cans, terrorists are able to conceal their dangerous intentions and put large amounts of people in danger.
Japanese authorities have also decided to take similar steps after terrorists attacked a subway by placing nerve gas bombs inside of trash cans. London officials made the same decision after a series of IRA attacks in the 1970s led to numerous assaults on public safety. New York City is now following suit in the aftermath of 9/11 and this is expected to deter potential terrorists.
According to the New York Police Department, the trash cans have been permanently removed in hopes of keeping the public safe. However, we all need to come together and provide the authorities with the information necessary to prevent more terrorist attacks in the future. If you see any sort of suspicious activity, then be sure to alert the proper authorities. Any hesitation during moments like these can be fatal.
It is our responsibility to say something when we see something and by remaining vigilant, we can all do our part to prevent future terrorist attacks. Please be sure to pass this story along to all of your closest friends and loved ones, so that you can provide them with the tips and pointers that they need in order to make terrorist attacks a thing of the past.
