Their home burned down during wildfire. Next day, they find the most prized possession in ashes



By now, you’ve probably heard about the devastating wildfires ravaging California. The entire town of Santa Rosa has been affected, with many houses completely burned to the ground.

Many of the families that have been affected have lost everything they own, but even in the midst of tragedy, some hope can still be found. Just take what happened to this couple, for example. Sam Brinkerhoff and her wife, Monica, recently moved to Santa Rosa after buying a house. Monica is expecting a baby and they were excited to create a home together.

They had to run out of their house with just the clothes on their backs when the fire encroached upon their neighborhood. They left even their most precious possessions behind to escape the terrible blaze, just as so many other families have had to do over the past week.

They were able to escape safely, but as far as their possessions were concerned, they really thought that everything was lost in the horrific blaze. They returned to their home once the flames were extinguished, and much to their surprise, they noticed something special in the ashes. Resting in the scorched rubble, they found their wedding and engagement rings!

Needless to say, they were completely shocked in the best way. They said their love and life are what matter and that their things can be replaced. But finding those rings and all they represent has helped them get through the ordeal. Learn more about their story in the video below!
