Hundreds Of Dogs Created Their Own Community After Chernobyl And You Can Adopt One

The Chernobyl accident led to some long term effects that most did not consider. This nuclear accident took place in 1986. A nuclear reactor experienced an open air graphite fire. This led to the evacuation of over 100,000 citizens. When the evacuees were asked to flee, they were told that they could not bring anything more than what they could carry.

As a result, a multitude of pets were left behind. There are many who believe that the whole area is devoid of all life but this is the furthest thing from the truth. A wide range of people still work in this area. However, the most noteworthy aspect of these grounds has very little to do with the humans in the area. There is a vibrant community of dogs living here.

When all of the pets were abandoned in the wake of the disaster, they essentially decided that they were going to formulate their own community. Since the humans had left them, they learned to survive on their own before too long. The 250 dogs who reside in the area are not in any danger from a nuclear fallout standpoint. It is the cold winters that they have to worry about.

They do not have the permanent shelter that they need in order to survive these conditions. SPCA International and Clean Futures Fund are stepping in to assist these dogs in finding the forever homes that they deserve. They have already provided hundreds of dogs with the help that they need. Radiation testing has taken place and none of the animals are contaminated.

The dogs are cleared for adoption and many have already found homes across the pond. By sending an e-mail to the good people at the Clean Futures Fund, you can find out more about the adoption process and what it will entail. Those who would simply like to help the dogs out by providing a donation are more than welcome to do so.

Even the smallest donations help immensely in these instances. Please be sure to pass this campaign along to your friends and loved ones as soon as possible. Any donation that is received is appreciated. For more information, take a moment to send an e-mail. The address is adoptions@cleanfutures.net. They are looking forward to hearing from you! Please don’t hesitate to share this story with all of your friends and loved ones as soon as possible.
