Loyal Dog Waited For Weeks For Family To Return After Home Was Burned Down By Wildfire

When the California wildfires took place, a number of pets were displaced. These animals have been looking to reunite with their loved ones and their loyalty must be commended. One dog took the concept of loyalty to a whole new level. Instead of having to be found after taking off, this dog stayed behind. He guarded the house until his owners finally returned!

Madison knew that his humans were going to come back eventually and he was willing to remain in this location for as long as it took. Andrea’s home was affected by the wildfires and her family was forced to flee. Their ranch was inaccessible. They were unable to get to their dogs in time. Miguel and his sister Madison had to stay behind and hope for the best.

The reunion took place because of a dedicated animal rescue volunteer. Their owner is also responsible, because of her refusal to give up on her fur babies. Shayla works with the good folks at K9 Paw Print Rescue and she was more than happy to help. She found Miguel rather easily but Madison was a more difficult dog to locate.

Madison was more interested in guarding the territory. Once Miguel was dropped off, she set about the task of making sure that Madison came home, too. Once Andrea was finally given the go-ahead to head back to her property, she was stunned to find the animals there waiting for her. This is the sort of loyalty that truly warms the heart, doesn’t it? We would melt at the sight of these dogs, too.

Can you believe that this dog stayed present for the entire time? He wanted to protect his land and wait for his people. The reunion between this dog and family was awesome but it paled in comparison to the reunion that took place between Madison and Miguel. Once the two had said their hellos to each other, they went right back to work.

Miguel allowed Madison to help him guard the property. He decided that he would guard the lower half of the property and surrendered the upper half to Madison. If you would like to see a clip of this reunion, we urge you to check out the video below. It was enough to make our day and it will definitely make yours, too! Please share this amazing story with your friends and loved ones.
