Luke Bryan’s 18-Year-Old Rescue Dog Has Died Just Weeks After Adopting Him

When Luke Bryan and his wife recently decided to adopt a senior dog, the decision made headlines. It is not every day that a senior dog gets the chance to find a new home. Most animals will never have the chance to live with a country superstar. Poochie got to reside with the family and find out more about what life is truly supposed to be.

Unfortunately, the 18 year old dog would soon pass away. We take solace in the fact that he got to fully enjoy the last few weeks of his life. The Bryan family is sad to see him go but they are happy to have played a role in his life. Caroline, Luke’s wife, shared news of the passing on her Instagram page. Of course, Luke’s fans were very sad to hear the news once it was passed along.

They had already developed a strong bond with the dog. They wanted him to live a long, happy existence in the lap of luxury. Poochie was loved by many and the responses that Caroline received for her post are certainly indicative of that. He may not have been able to spend much time with the Bryan family but he definitely made his mark on them over the course of the past few weeks.

Hopefully, stories like these convince more readers to take a chance on a senior dog or cat. These animals do not always receive the same love and affection as their younger counterparts. It is time to put a stop to such practices. We are grateful to the Bryan family for shedding light on an important cause. Let’s all do our part to help senior animals going forward.

While we would have loved for Poochie to have lived another 18 years, we are grateful for the time we gave him with our foster, Lacey Marie and with his adoptive family, the Bryans.Poochie enjoyed his time with the Bryan family. He even felt well enough to stroll in their pastures and be a dog again. He sadly passed away a few days ago, but he was loved and passed in his sleep on a big comfy bed. He is now buried on the Bryan farm amid other beloved pets.Below in the thread is Caroline’s beautiful tribute to Poochie. Rest well my friend.#seniorsdeservetoberescuedwww.proverbs1210rescue.org

These animals do not deserve to reside inside of a shelter. All it takes is a little bit of assistance to make the lives of these animals much better. Instead of forcing them to live out their final days in solitude, why not allow them to reside in a forever home? Forever may not be a long time but that should never stop pet owners from being willing to help.

Proverbs 12:10 Animal Shelter is the shelter that the family obtained the dog from. They are also offering their condolences. Poochie enjoyed every moment that he got to spend with his new, famous family. We hope that he is resting well in Doggy Heaven and that he’s getting lots of treats and belly rubs.
