Man Couldn’t Stand To See Homeless Dogs Dying On The Streets, So He Adopts 450 Of Them

A Serbian man recently found himself saddened by the sheer number of dogs that were roaming the streets. These animals did not have any place to go. This made the man wonder why things had to be this way for them. These are the plights that are often ignored by so many. We all make the mistake of assuming that someone else is going to take care of these things.

However, the man in this story is not like most people. He decided that he was going to do everything in his power to make sure that these animals were given what they needed to survive. A dog that has been sentenced to life on the streets does not have very long to live. They will either pass away from malnutrition or succumb to disease before too long.

Sasa Pejčić is this man’s name and he deserves all of the recognition that he is currently receiving. The plan that he came up is absolutely amazing and we do not say this lightly. We are absolutely stunned by what he has been able to do. A few years ago, Sasa had found some old riding stables. Since he had no other usage for them, he decided to fashion them into doggy shelters.

As you may have expected, the stray dogs took to their new digs immediately. They were very appreciated to Sasa for what he had done for them. The dogs now had a paradise of their very own. Best of all, Sasa took in as many as possible. He could not bear to see any of these animals on the streets any longer. Before too long, there were over 400 dogs residing at his makeshift sanctuary.

This story is proof of the impact that just one person can have. Sasa did not make excuses or ask for anyone else’s help. He rolled up his sleeves and got to work. This is something that we could all stand to learn from, right? Of course, the costs that are associated with the upkeep of this sanctuary are rather considerable for Sasa.

“Here they are loved and not expected to do anything other than to simply be dogs. Many are adopted out internationally to good homes, and others will spend their remaining days at the sanctuary.” – Founder of the Harmony Fund Laura Simpson

The Harmony Fund was established to pay for the needs of all these dogs. Small donations are collected as a means of covering the costs of feeding this small army. “Here they are loved and not expected to do anything other than to simply be dogs,” says Laura Simpson. In time, they will be sent out to new forever homes and they will have the efforts of Sasa to thank for that!
