Mom Cancels Baby Shower Because Friends and Family Won’t Stop Judging Her Baby’s Name

Everyone will have an opinion on your child’s name, particularly if it’s a unique name. Lately, celebrities have led the movement on truly unique baby names, but even they sometimes get flack for their choices.

However, one woman recently picked a name for her unborn baby, and it caused quite a stir, which she wasn’t prepared for at all. It got to the point that she grew so upset and sick of constantly hearing people’s unwanted opinions about her name choice that she actually cancelled her own baby shower.

On her Facebook she posted that she was choosing to host a “smaller, more inclusive party” where she’d be free from judgment. Her post went viral, as she had a lot on her mind to unload.

“Because ya’ll have been talking s*it about my unborn baby. AN UNBORN CHILD! How can you judge an unborn child? What is wrong with you??”

She continued by stating, “To say this frankly, my friends and family have treated me like total s*it. They’ve spread rumors and lies about my child. No, I am not crazy. No, I am not mentally unstable. No, I was not drunk when I named my child.”

She wanted to make it clear that she was happy with her name choice and wasn’t going to reconsider.

“You cannot force me to change his name. This is the name I was meant to give him,” she said.

I know that everyone must be wondering what kind of name was causing such a stir: Squire Sebastian Senator – and that is his full first name.

“This is how it will be. He will not be allowed to have a nickname, he is to be called by his full and complete first name,” she clarified on her Facebook post.

“My baby’s name WILL be a revolution. It will push people to question everything. Why name your baby boring over-used names like Joshua, Brian, Sam, Nick, Mark, Bella, Marina, etc…when you can name it something special.”

A very revolutionary first name indeed.
