Mom Speaks Out After Autistic Son Hospitalized For Standing Up To Bullies Attacking His Friend

Carter English, six-years-old but he’s not an average 6-year-old.  Carter is autistic and he did one of the most heroic things recently.  He stood up for his friend who was being bullied at an Olympia, Washington apartment complex.

It didn’t end there.  Carter was then attacked by the seven bullies they broke his arm, threw sawdust and rocks hitting him in the eyes, they used sticks and rocks to hit him causing lacerations to his eyes.

The authorities believe this was all started by a 5-year-old.

Authorities plan to involve social services, but there aren’t any criminal charges, because all the kids are minors.

Dana English, Carter’s mother, was heartbroken and bawling her eyes out trying to understand why kids could inflict so much harm and anger onto another kid.

‘IT’S HEARTBREAKING AND IT’S DISGUSTING. IT JUST MAKES ME WONDER, WHAT IN THE HECK ARE THEY GOING THROUGH IN THEIR EVERYDAY LIFE?”

Brave Carter he walked right up to the bullies and told them to stop hurting his friend.

“THEN THEY DID IT TO ME,” SAID CARTER.

Doctors had to remove fragments of rock and debris from Cater’s left eye and stitch up the serious laceration. There is a risk he may lose the sight in his eye. He arm required surgery as well.

Now Carter fears the bullies will show up again, and Dana is afraid to leave him alone.

“I REALLY DON’T KNOW WHAT I’M HOPING FOR, OTHER THAN TO LET PEOPLE KNOW THAT THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. BULLYING IS NOT OK,” SAID DANA.

“THERE’S NO REASON TO BULLY SOMEBODY –EVER.”

A friend created a GoFundMe page for Carter and Dana and the page has received an outpouring of support.  The page was created to help the family pay for medical bills, and has reached $40,335 when originally the goal was $5,500.

The latest post from Dana:

“HELLO EVERYONE! JUST WANTED YOU ALL TO KNOW THAT CARTER IS HAVING SURGERY ON HIS AR ARM TODAY.”

In the update, the page shows a PO box, where you may send Carter well-wishes and gifts.

Thank you to everyone for the enormous support of those who stand with Carter and Dana and against bullying.
