Amazon has changed the game when it comes to the way that we shop for various goods and while there are a number of items that can be purchased from the popular online retailer at a deep discount, there are other items that you should never be purchasing from this site. If you are anything like us, you have probably taken a closer look at your credit card and audibly gasped as a result.
It is easy to toss certain items in your cart when you are browsing Amazon, as the convenience factor is essentially unparalleled. While you can certainly avoid many of the hassles that come with shopping at traditional brick and mortar outlets by making purchases on Amazon, that does not always mean that you are going to get the best possible price.
For starters, those of us who have ever purchased a piece of clothing from Amazon can relate to the annoyance that takes place when you find an item that has been “discounted”, only to find a much higher price once it is actually placed inside of your cart. The markdowns do not apply to the actual color or size that we want and are only offered for colors and sizes that no one actually desires.
2. Pet Food
Pet owners will often find themselves looking for low prices on their animal’s food and while Amazon might seem like the best possible site for this purpose, this is the furthest thing from the truth. Amazon does not have a large range of pet foods available and Chewy.com can offer customers better prices with relative ease.
3. Paper Goods
Now, you’re probably thinking to yourself that paper goods on Amazon are going to be less pricey than the paper goods that are purchased at your local supermarket. Unfortunately, you are better off heading to stores like Target when it comes time to purchase paper towels. The amount of packaging that Amazon uses for these items is also bad for the environment, so be sure to bear this in mind too.
Amazon might be able to provide us with some of the finest deals known to man, but that does not mean that everything on this site is considered to be a steal. Be sure to pass this story along to all of your online shopping buddies and steer clear of these scam items during your next Amazon shopping binge.
