This brain teaser may seem to ask a question that is exceedingly simple. But in reality, the answer is not so easy to come by and that’s why this challenging puzzle is currently taking the Internet by storm. We all love a good brain teaser and one comes along that is this divisive, we cannot help but to pass it along to all our friends and family members to find out what answer they came up with.
After all, the community vibe that brain teasers create is half of the fun, isn’t it? No wants to try and figure out a brain teaser all by themselves, right? National Geographic has now gotten in on the act and while this may seem like a kiddie puzzle, even adults are struggling to solve it. It seems easy enough, though….just decide which direction the bus is currently traveling in.
As with most brain teasers, there is more than meets the eye. The show that originally posed the question claims that eight out of every ten children were able to answer the question right and this makes us feel even more old and out of touch. Just take a careful look at this picture. If you are anything like us, you will be frustrated at the lack of obvious hints.
Fortunately, we are here to provide you with a few of the hints that we have been able to garner after several minutes of purposeful staring. For starters, it is in your best interests to look at the doors’ positioning. Depending on the country in which you live, the bus may be traveling towards the right or it may be traveling towards the left. This is a key distinction to make.
Some might be thinking to themselves that they have seen this brain teaser already and they would be correct. This puzzle is not a new invention, but it has recently resurfaced. There is also a viable scientific reason why children are able to understand and solve this puzzle more easily.
It has nothing to do with the amount of time that they spend on the school bus, by the way. Since children who are under the age of 12 typically have the ability to process visual imagery at a greater rate of speed than their older counterparts, don’t be shocked if your little one solves the puzzle faster than you. Pass this video along and be sure to share the brain teaser with all of your friends and loved ones.
