While most stories about airlines nowadays seem to end poorly, we are more than happy to provide you with an alternative to the same old same. Receiving reminders about how awesome air travel can be is a great way to drown all of the negative publicity and we are glad to see that at least one pilot truly loves his job.
Captain John Richie knows that he is nothing without the help of his passengers and he decided to celebrate a crucial milestone in his career with the people he deems responsible for his success. Jennifer Todd, one of the attendants on a routine Captain Richie flight, captured this amazing story and shared it with her Facebook friends.
Once all of the passengers on the flight were seated, the captain took to the overhead announcement system and let the passengers know that he had flown for the United States Air Force in the past and from there, he let them in on an even bigger secret: he had been keeping track of his total number of passengers the entire time.
On this fateful day, he let the passengers know that his one millionth passenger was seated on the flight. This is quite a large number and we cannot fathom the level of commitment and skill that it takes to ensure the safe passage of this many people.
Not only that, he provided the lucky millionth passenger with an autographed boarding pass and once he learned how much that they had paid for the flight, he also provided them with an envelope full of cash to cover the exact amount that they had spent on the trip.
As soon as the presentation was over, Richie did what he always does: he went into the cockpit and started the flight. If you appreciate his efforts as much we did, be sure to pass this incredible video along to your friends and family as soon as possible.
