Rare ‘magical rabbit’ is spotted for the first time in 20 years

It is not every day that you get to see a magical animal and we are here to show you something truly special. These creatures are known as Ili Pika. What you also may not have known is that they are one of the most endangered species on the planet. The pictures that you are about to see are incredibly rare. In fact, they are the first of their kind in 20 years!

Weidong Li is the conservationist who first discovered these animals back in the 1980’s. They are considered to be “magical rabbits” and like any other magical creature, you are not going to come across them on a regular basis. That is what makes this story such a special one. The second spotting took place in the Tianshian mountains, which are located in the northwestern region of China.

The species used to be known as “Ochotona iliensis”, until Li had the name changed to reflect his hometown. Ever since their initial discovery, the species population has continued to decline sharply. Experts currently believe that there are less than 1,000 of these rabbits still in existence. Li feels a responsibility to keep these animals safe.

As the person who is responsible for their discovery, Li says that he would feel very guilty if they happened to reach extinction on his watch. It is difficult to find any sort of scientific data on these animals because they are so rare. All scientists know for sure is that they are definitely a member of the rabbit family and that there are not many left.

Global warming issues are being blamed for what has taken place. Humans are playing a major role in the elimination of this species and it is time that we came together to put a stop to stories like these. Li has become so captivated by these creatures, he has decided to retire from his job early and now spends his days observing them in their natural habitat.

The images are being released in hopes of raising awareness about the plight of these animals. Please take a moment to pass them along, so that the rest of the world can learn more about the issues that these animals are currently facing. Pass this story along to your friends and loved ones as soon as possible! Without our help, these animals are going to be facing a long, uphill battle.
