Renée Zellweger Looks Identical To Judy Garland In Trailer For Biopic

The first trailer for the upcoming film “Judy” is out!

The film, which is a biopic of Judy Garland, stars Renée Zellweger. The movie will focus on the final years of Judy’s life – roughly about 30 years after her role in “The Wizard of Oz.” Judy Garland passed away at the age of 47 in 1969, because of an accidental overdose.

The trailer shows Judy struggling with her drug addiction and fighting with her management, as well as juggling the role of motherhood with her career.

Renée is taking on the role following a six-year break from Hollywood. It’s said that she prepared for the role by focusing on the lesser-known aspects of Judy’s life, and then comparing them to her own personal life experiences.

“I approached [the film] really humbly with curiosity and lifelong admiration — awe, really,” Renée said to Fox News in June.

She added, “And I just wanted to learn as much as I could and read between the lines because I think that a lot of what we sort of address in the film has gone unaddressed or [has not been addressed].”

Renée has said that the role was “fun” to play, but also knew she had to be careful with it.

“I wanted to be careful because I, like generations of people, I have loved her a lifetime,” she said.

The trailer shows Renée fully transformed into Judy — complete with colorful outfits, furs, and everything!

“Judy” is set to be released in theaters on the 27th of September.
