If you are anything like us, you are an absolute sucker for all animal reunion videos. These clips always touch our hearts, especially when they come with an amazing backstory…like this one! Nick Pierzchalski is a national guard in the state of Florida but he also did a tour of duty in Iraq. He spent someone very special while he was overseas.

The dog was a young shepherd mix. She immediately took to Nick and it was clear to see that they would always be friends. He and his friends decided that they would care for the dog as if she was their very own. As you can imagine, having a dog to spend time with at moments like these was a major morale booster for Nick and all of his buddies.

Once he came back home, he realized that he was never going to be able to get this dog out of his head. Everyone that he talked to said that it would be a great idea for him to bring the dog home. Nick spent a lot of time wondering how she was doing. He knew that he needed to do something before it was too late. Of course, you can probably guess what happened next.

Nick made their proper arrangements to retreive his old friend. The dog was flown into the Tampa International Airport. From there, Nick would have the chance to reunite with her and make her a part of the family. SPCA International is the organization that assisted him with the adoption process. Fox 13 News Channel decided to broadcast this amazing reunion.

Everyone loved seeing these two have the chance to spend time together again. While Nick was worried that the dog would not recognize him once she was released from her cage, these fears turned out to be almost entirely unfounded. The two were both teary eyed by the time they finally got the chance to give each other. We had to wipe away a few tears ourselves, to be honest.
