Sophie Turner And Joe Jonas Get Married In Surprise Vegas Wedding

It’s official, one of the Stark children from Game of Thrones – Sophie Turner – has gotten married to Joe Jonas in a surprise wedding ceremony in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The EDM DJ, Diplo, shared an Instagram story of the celebrity couple walking down the aisle straight after the Billboard Awards, which was also taking place in Vegas.

Jonas, 29, is seen waiting at the alter for Turner, 23, to walk in, dressed in a white veil and dress.

The couple became engaged back in October of 2017. They got married surrounded by a few friends and family, as well as a few attendees from the Billboard Awards.

In classic Vegas wedding style, an Elvis impersonator presided over the marriage ceremony.

In on of the Instagram clips from Diplo, Turner is heard repeating, “I thee wed…and I love you…and I thank God he gave me you.”

The couple are then heard reciting together, “I promise you, I will never leave you. I will love and trust you all the days of my life.”

After that Elvis then tells Jonas, “You may kiss the bride,” much to the applause and excitement of the crowd.

Turner and Jonas first began dating in November 2016, and later that December, confirmed that they were “dating exclusively”. It was the following year that they got engaged.

Their wedding comes as a complete surprise following Jonas’s recent discussion of their wedding plans.

The singer spoke with James Corden on his chat show in the US, where Jonas said, “We’ll we’re going to married this year. We’re going to have a summer wedding, which I’m looking forward to. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

He went into more detail on the Zach Sang show, where he confirmed the ceremony’s location, stating, “I mean, we are getting married in France, so a lot of Coors Light is necessary.”

Jonas then added, “We got most of it figured out already. There’s parts of it that I think just naturally are stressful, but you just have to allow yourself to enjoy the fact that you’re doing this. It’s not really about all the little minor details, it’s going to be great and things are gonna go wrong, but I enjoy planning stuff.”

Turner had also spoken to Harper’s Bazaar about the wedding, saying she wanted a small ceremony, “We’re trying to keep it as low-key as possible, so it’s more of an intimate thing.”

She also confirmed that Maisie Williams, her GoT co-star and best friend in real life, would be serving as her maid of honor.

While it’s still unconfirmed whether they will be going through with the ceremony plans now that they’ve gotten married, it looks like they’re very happy. And we wish the couple congratulations and a lifetime of happiness together.
