This story begins in Purulia, West Bengal. A baby had been cruelly discarded and had very little hope for survival. The newborn girl was left behind, with no one to look after her. At this time, a group of stray dogs decided that they were going to step up to the plate. They served as a valuable team of babysitters. They were not going to let anything happen to her.

Dogs are some of the best friends that we will ever have. Their ability to look out for their pals is truly remarkable. They had no connection to speak of with this baby. However, their natural protective instincts kicked in almost immediately. The canines may not have known what they were going to do with her but they were not going to leave her behind.

Crows tried to circle the infant. The dogs were not going to let the crows attack, though. Not on their watch! The dogs formed a protective circle around the baby, so that nothing would happen to her. The four dogs chased away all threats. Because of their efforts, the baby was able to survive. Without their help, who knows what might have happened otherwise?

Stories like these truly reaffirm our faith in the world. This baby was abandoned and not given a strong chance to survive. Fortunately, she had some guardian angels who were ready to assist her. Ulnas Chowdhury was the first person to find the baby. The Manbhum Victoria Institution teacher was on his way to class and never could have expected what he found that day.

Once he heard the cries of the lost child, he knew that he had to help out right away. Parveen Sen also helped out. She provided the baby with some much needed milk, which seemed to work wonders. The child’s incessant cries finally started to slow down. The baby was taken to the Deben Mahato Sadar Hospital and given a name. She is now known as Sania.

A loyal Yorkshire terrier stayed with a missing 3-year-old girl in a dense cornfield in Missouri all night—and heroically led a search party to them with a "weak bark," authorities said.
