These Adorable Squirrels Can Only Found On One Japanese Island

Who doesn’t love cute animals? If you are anything like us, you cannot get enough of cute animal stories. We would spend all day looking at pictures of adorable animals, if it were at all feasible. Everyone loves fluffy, cute animals and that is a fact. However, there are many who are not fully aware of the existence of Ezo Momonga.

It is time for that to change. For those who are unfamiliar, the Ezo Momonga are some of the most adorable squirrels in existence. You would be forgiven for not knowing much about them, though. They are not exactly the easiest animals to come across in everyday life. Their faces and eyes make them stand out and they almost resemble cartoons.

If you are looking to go see these animals, you are going to have to book a trip to Hokkaido. This island is the one location where these squirrels can be seen. We don’t know about anyone else but we are definitely going to start saving our pennies for this trip. This is one location that is definitely about to be added to our bucket list, post haste.

The squirrels are not exactly raring for visitors, either. They are shy animals by nature and they are not very inquisitive. We can certainly appreciate this. Who doesn’t like to be left alone sometimes? This does make it rather challenging for visitors to get pictures at times. We cannot believe the quality of these photos, though. It seems like some folks are still able to catch their attention.

We cannot get over how adorably chubby they are. It is like someone created these animals specifically to tug at our heartstrings. If you are anything like us, you have been squealing at all of these photos. Those who cannot pronounce Ezo Momonga can simply refer to them as Japanese dwarf flying squirrels. They are nocturnal and only fly when they are moving from tree to tree.

Best of all, the squirrels are too small to encounter any sort of natural predator. They are not endangered in any way. Hopefully, they will remain on the ‘least endangered’ list for the foreseeable future (where they belong). If you found these animals to be as cute as we did, please be sure to share this story with your friends and loved ones. They are definitely going to appreciate these amazing squirrels and all that they have to offer.
