Titanic II Will Set Sail In 2022 And Will Retrace The Fateful Route Of The Original Ship

We have all heard the stories of that fateful maiden voyage of the Titanic in 1912 but now in 2022 exactly 110 years later, the second voyage of a bigger and better ship will set sail.  It will travel the exact route from Dubai to England then on to New York.

“The ship will follow the original journey, carrying passengers from Southampton to New York,” Blue Line chairman Clive Palmer said, “but she will also circumnavigate the globe, inspiring and enchanting people while attracting unrivaled attention, intrigue and mystery in every port she visits.”

The route isn’t the only thing Titanic II will have in common with the original.  The ship was built to be an exact replica of the first.  The cost will tip the scales at $500 million dollars making it the most expensive ship in the world.  It will be able to carry the exact number of passengers(2400) and crew (900).

Thankfully, the Titanic II will house enough lifeboats just in case they are needed.

“The new Titanic will, of course, have modern evacuation procedures, satellite controls, digital navigation, and radar systems and all those things you’d expect on a 21st-century ship,” said James McDonald, the global marketing director of Palmer’s company Blue Star Line.

The Titanic was built in Belfast, Northern Ireland but the new Titanic II will be built in China.  Hopefully, another difference will be that the ship makes it safely to New York without running into any icebergs along the way.

We can only expect the price of a ticket will be higher than 100 years ago. Ticket prices haven’t been announced.  To find out the difference it the cost of tickets and some other fun facts about the new ship check out the footage on the video below.
