This Woman Was Able To Escape Her Abusive Boyfriend With The Help Of A Vet

An abusive relationship is one of the most horrible experiences that a person can endure. When we are being held against our will by someone who does not have our best interests at heart, it can feel as if we do not have the ability to break free. Falling in love with someone is like a dream come true but these dreams can often become nightmares.

The woman in this story found herself trapped in just such a relationship. She did not know how she was going to successfully free herself but she knew that she had to do something before it was too late. Jeremy had been holding Carolyn for 48 hours when she finally decided that it was time to break loose. He had started to threaten her with a firearm.

The plan that she put together in order to escape was a very intelligent one. The couple had a dog and Carolyn told Jeremy that the animal needed to go to the vet’s office. Jeremy agreed to take the dog but he told Carolyn that she was going to die if she attempted to be brave in any way. She had bruises and a black eye that both had to be covered.

Jeremy brought the gun with him to the animal hospital. When they arrived, Carolyn went to the bathroom and found a pen on the receptionist’s desk when she was on her way to the lavatory. It was at this time that she would write the note that would be responsible for saving her life. She let the vet’s office know what was going on and what Jeremy was capable of.

She showed the receptionists her black eye when she discreetly slid them the note. The staff acted quickly and notified the proper authorities immediately. The couple was taken to a “private waiting room”. In no time at all, the police arrived and removed the gun from Jeremy’s person. He was taken to jail and continued to harass Carolyn from behind bars.

This was a violation of the law. Jeremy was charged with stalking, in addition to the litany of charges that he had already received. If you have a loved one who is experiencing this sort of abuse, encourage them to pick up the phone as soon as possible.
