Dogs Called 911 16 Times In 30 Minutes While Their Owners Were Gone

Bomber and Remy are two special dogs who will stop at nothing to make sure that their loved ones know about their needs. When they want something, they do not stop until they get it. If this combination sounds like a recipe for mischief, you are exactly right. Minnesota’s Lakeville Police Department recently got a call from the dogs and we promise you that there are no typos in that sentence.

So what made these adorable dogs pick up the phone and contact the police? The 911 dispatcher who took the call was baffled at first. When they picked up the phone, they did not hear anyone talking back. Of course, this was cause for concern. What if the person on the other end of the phone was not able to speak? What if they were badly injured?

This was quite the mystery and the dispatchers wanted to make sure that they took the proper steps. Once the officers decided to trace the location of the calls, they found a house that seemed to be empty. They wondered if the calls were some sort of cruel hoax. The officers soon realized that this situation was a rather serious one and that a hoax was essentially impossible.

The calls had come from this location, no two ways about it. By the time they arrived, a series of calls had taken place. They could not figure out who was making them, though. The sound of barking dogs could be heard on some of the calls but they did not even think to attribute them to these pups. Once they left the property, the calls continued to pour in.

At long last, the officers were able to obtain the code for the home’s garage. They thought that a human was trapped inside and unable to speak. As it turns out, the calls were being made by the dogs! The dogs did not even need any help. They were simply looking for attention. There was no emergency taking place on the premises.

The police department decided to look the other way and allow the dogs to remain free. While there are some who would have been mad at the dogs, it is easy to understand why they would get lonely during the day. The officers say that they have never seen anything like this. We are going to go out on a huge limb and say that they will never see anything like this again.
