Adoptive parents flee after seeing newborn’s ‘ugly’ face, then mom has a change of heart

Abigail was born on Jan. 1st, 2016. The beautiful baby girl was born with a facial deformity that wasn’t detectable using ultrasounds.

Abigail’s would-be adoptive mother came to the hospital to see her child, but immediately ran off after seeing the baby’s face. Christina Fisher, the birth mom never heard from her again…

36-year-old Christina Fisher from Florida, was unemployed during her pregnancy, lived in a motorhome, and was afraid she wouldn’t be able to care for her baby. But in the moments after giving birth, the whole situation changed.

Christina took the adoptive mother’s fleeing as a sign and she decided she needed to take care of her baby: “I just knew I could never give her up,” she recalled.

Abigail was born with something called Treacher Collins syndrome, which can affect the tissue and bone development of the face and ears.

Abigail is otherwise completely healthy and will lead a normal life, she’ll just have to undergo some corrective surgery when she’s a bit older. “There are doctors with Treacher Collins, and even a male model,” said Christina.

Christina has demonstrated the mark of a true mother: unconditional love, no matter what. I think this story has ended in the best possible way.
