Brides will never have to struggle in the bathroom again with simple IKEA bag hack

Weddings already bring enough of a stress to the brides planning them – you have to think about food, venue, music, dresses, overall mingling with people, etc. But one of the untold stresses is having to figure out a way to go to the bathroom without ruining your dress.

It seems that one crafty bride may have solved that toilet disaster for the rest of brides worldwide, after she took it upon herself to prepare for the worst and find a solution. She knew that she was going into it with a struggle on her hands, so she created her own DIY toilet aid out of an IKA bag in order to safely hoist up her beautiful mermaid wedding gown.

Impressed by her own efforts using nothing more than scissors, the bride took to Facebook to share her hack:

“Well, I got married a few weeks ago (in a mermaid wedding dress) and I was really worried about going to the bathroom and not being able to … handle myself. Someone helping or watching me going to the bathroom on my wedding day? Not being able to have free hands to use the toilet paper? Or even worse if my period decides to show? NO WAY! My bridal bathroom helper hack costs about 0.80 euro and I did it the day before my wedding. It took only 3 minutes. What I like best is it’s almost free and allows me to make my life easier on my wedding day. So here is the hack.”

It’s quite simple really: you cut a large hole in the bottom of your IKEA bag, the pull the bag up to catch the dress in the process, and you’re done. Simple and effective.

Naturally, many other women chimed in to share their own tips for desperate brides facing the fear of a bathroom trip in a wedding gown.

One woman wrote, “I’ve been advised that it is easier when wearing a wedding dress to use the loo facing backwards! May need someone to hold up the skirt but possibly a little more private.”

While another added, “My dress was huge with a very long train. I was commando for the reception and I lifted the front of my dress and sat on it front ways if that makes sense. I didn’t have any help once to go to the loo.”

“I just took mine off in the hotel room before going the toilet. I don’t really drink so I only had to go a few times throughout the day,” a third woman added.

Regardless, of the debate, know any brides-to-be who might like to try the IKEA bag trick?
