Delivery Driver Shares A Photo Of ‘Leaves’ And It Is A Warning Everyone Should See

We have seen our fair share of viral videos and although this one fits into the category, it isn’t exactly the most exciting of the lot. That being said, this picture was taken by a UPS driver and it involves a pile of leaves along the side of the road and something that all of us need to see.

It isn’t the leaves but rather, it is what is underneath the leaves that is so important. According to the driver, he almost hit a young boy who was playing in the leaves that day.

It occurred in Elkhart, Indiana last week when Jordan Weaver was delivering packages. He saw a hat peeking out of a pile of leaves beside the road.

“I couldn’t believe it at first — my heart completely stopped,” he told a local news station.

“Luckily, I parked across the street from the stop, so I didn’t see the child until after I made the delivery. I immediately grabbed my phone and went and asked the mother if I could take a picture.”

Weaver shared the picture on Facebook with some of his coworkers. It wasn’t long before it was a hot topic with delivery drivers.

This picture shows something that all of us need to know and that professional drivers already know. Hazards are not always hiding, sometimes they exist right in front of us. It perfectly illustrates how it is never safe to have a child playing near the road.

As an example, a delivery driver saw a baby under his truck just a few weeks ago.

This baby was crawling outside under my truck after my Truck was parked to make a delivery luckily i seen her. Before i backed out. No supervision in site

Weaver’s picture is a warning to all parents but he also has advice for drivers, regardless of the time of year.

“You really have to keep your eyes open,” he said. “No matter what street you’re on, no matter where you’re at, just have to keep your eyes open. You have to pay attention to everything around you constantly.”
