Going on a safari is a life changing experience. We wish that we could spend time in foreign lands, learning more about all of the animals that the world has to offer. The travelers in this story were recently given the chance to do just that. These tourists visited South Africa for a safari and got far more than they bargained for in the process.
It is not every day that you get to see a wild elephant, let alone a wild elephant who is giving birth. This clip is like something out of the movies. The mother elephant gives birth to the baby and the little one drops to the ground. The baby cannot stand up on its own yet. That does not stop the other elephants from letting the trumpets blow, as a means of commemorating the arrival of their herd’s newest member.
The herd is not going to let any harm come to this baby, either. They gather around the mother and her baby. Anyone who is thinking of coming any closer had better think twice. They sense that there are people in their midst. We cannot blame them for being skeptical. There are too many people out there who like to interfere with nature, in hopes of snagging a viral clip.
The vocals that they are letting out are meant to achieve two goals. First, they are letting the world know how happy they are. Secondly, they want to make sure that no one gets any funny ideas. This is one of the most amazing moments that we have ever witnessed. We cannot imagine what it was like to be there in person for this incredible event.
After all, we are not going to have very many chances to view a birth up close. If you are anything like us, you will have a hard time looking away. The pride that these elephants have in their loved ones is also easy to relate. As anyone who has ever had a child of their own can tell you, there is nothing that can compare to the moment when your child first comes into the world.
Would you like to see this elephant birth for yourself? If so, be sure to check out the clip below. Prepare yourself now, though. You just might need more than a few tissues to get through this one. What a stirring moment.
