Game Of Thrones Fan Theory Claims Jaime Lannister Might Still Be Alive

The last episode of Game of Thrones seems to have fans divided. While most are agreeing that it looks incredible, there are those who feel that too much was crammed in at once.

It was even voted the worst GOTepisode ever. Bit harsh.

One of the more controversial scenes from episode five, ‘The Bells’, was the deaths of both Jaime and Cersei Lannister – which some fans have declared as being a bit ‘meh’.

There has been eight seasons of tension and build up, watching Jaime transform from villain to hero, as well as watching Cersei spiral out and become more and more bitter with each episode, that the death by falling bricks comes off as rather underwhelming. We would’ve expected more wow from the writers.

However, there are somefans who have their suspicions about Jaime possibly still being alive in order to make an appearance next week in the final episode. Unfortunately, Cersei is pretty dead.

One user who goes by the name WeedsAreFlowersToo took to Tumblr to point out it was strange none of the cast members had posted anything on social media saying goodbye to Nikolaj Coster-Waldau’s character.

She wrote, “Why isn’t ANYONE acknowledging that Jaime Lannister just died??? Why is nobody in the cast thanking Nik for his performance? Why did Pilou (Euron Greyjoy) and Lena’s (Cersei Lannister) Insta post not say anything about Jaime dying? Why isn’t Nik saying anything about what he thinks of the scene? Why did he make a post saying goodbye to Lena, and not to the character he played for 8 years? Why is there no talk of Jaime’s death in the game revealed?”

Everyone had chipped in to bid farewell to Lena Headey, including Nikolaj himself, who paid tribute to his co-star in a post to Instagram.

He wrote, “The best, sweetest most wonderful sister from another mother @iamleanaheadey. That was a fun decade.”

Unless Nik was an incredibly unpopular member of the cast – which seems doubtful – it does seem a little odd that no one has bothered to give him or his character a proper farewell.

But this isn’t the only piece of evidence WeedsAreFlowersToo has to support her theory.

She has contacted a journalist with Entertainment Weekly who conducted a series of interviews with most of the Game of Thrones stars who have died throughout the series, including Lena Heady and Rory McCann – who plays the Hound – both of whom died in episode five.

When WeedsAreFlowersToo asked the journalist why Nikolaj’s interview hadn’t been published yet, he replied, “Holding that one for a bit…”

Surely that has to be proof that Jaime Lannister is alive, right?

The final Game of Thrones episode is set to air this Sunday in the US, and in the UK it will air Monday May 20th.

What do you think about the theory of Jaime being alive? Do you think he could have survived being crushed by the Red Keep? Or is the fan theory just wishful thinking?
