Game Of Thrones Fan Theory Suggests That Ned Stark Could Come Back To Life

Before we go any further, you should realize that there are some spoilers in this article. If you have not kept up with what is taking place in Westeros, you might be getting ahead of yourself.

So here’s the skinny…

The end of episode two saw every man and his dog settling into Winterfell. They were awaiting the battle of all battles against the Army of the dead.

Jon Snow and those with him did their best to hold off of the White Walkers but at the same time, the women and children, including Samwell Tarly had hunkered down in the Stark Crypt.

Seems reasonable so far.

Then again, some fans are speaking out against what is taking place. They feel that trying to fight an army of zombies while hiding in a tomb with plenty of dead Starks might not be the brightest option.

u/IgnorantSportsFan said the following on Reddit: “The dead are already here’. That line happens between Dany and Jon, and felt super significant – but we already see the army of the dead, felt it was too obvious to be their reaction to them.

“Then it clicked: The crypt is full of dead people.

“All episode they keep repeating and emphasizing how safe it was in the crypt, but its not and we cannot have nice things.

“So is it possible we have old Starks rising from the crypts? Or is that too far fetched?

“PLUS we saw in multiple previews Arya fighting in the crypts with her new weapon.”

As it turns out, the Stark Crypt might not be the best hiding place for children and it could actually be a weapon used by the Night King and his army.

Many fans feel that there may actually be something else going on behind the scenes. One fan referenced a chapter in the book: “JON CHAPTER Last night he had dreamt the Winterfell dream again. He was wandering the empty castle, searching for his father, descending into the crypts.

“Only this time the dream had gone further than before. In the dark he’d heard the scrape of stone on stone. When he turned he saw that the vaults were opening, one after the other. As the dead kings came stumbling from their cold black graves, Jon had woken in pitch-dark, his heart hammering.

“I’m sensing another Red Wedding style thing.”

Another said that it might be a positive twist if Ned Stark comes back to life. “Old Starks rising from the crypts has been a theory for a while. I like both versions

“They rise Lord of the Rings style and help fight due to some sort of ancient stark magic thingie, ‘A Stark must always be in Winterfell’.

“They rise and slaughter everyone in the crypts red wedding style.”

In either case, I’m sure we will all be tuning in to find out what happens. There are so many possibilities.
