Sean Milliken was a young man who was well known for a short time when he stared in the reality series ‘My 600lb Life’ in 2016. At the time, he was tipping the scales at 900lbs. Unfortunately, his father recently confirmed that his son passed away at only 29 years of age due to complications from an infection.
The episode was filmed in Milliken’s home in California. He spoke about how he used food as a coping mechanism. “So I would eat. And suddenly I felt a lot better,” Milliken said during the episode. “In that moment, nothing else mattered.”
“Every day I wake up I have to face the reality of what my life has become. I am so big now; I can hardly move. All I can do on my own is skooch to the end of my bed, go to the bathroom and see if my mom is awake.”
Renee, his mother, was also on that episode and talked about the problems of caring for her son. “Sean has gotten so big,” she said. “I can’t handle cleaning him on my own anymore, and it is really important that he stays clean because he gets open sores really easily.”

TLC followed through with Sean in 2018 on the show, ‘My 600-lb. Life: Where are They Now?’. He was grieving the loss of his mother, who died unexpectedly.
“A couple of months ago my mom went to the hospital because she wasn’t feeling well, and she just kept getting worse,” Milliken said during this episode. “She passed away a couple weeks ago and I’m devastated, and I don’t know what to do now because my mom was everything to me.”

Even though he had lost his mother, he said he was “still continuing in his quest to live a healthier and happier life”. He had lost more than 400 lbs and it appeared that he was doing well. This past week, however, his father went on Facebook to confirm the death of his son.
Matt, his father, said Sean had died on Sunday in a Texas hospital. He was struggling with complications from an infection.
“Sunday he was having problems with his breathing, they were able to resuscitate him and a short time later his heart stopped,” Matt explained. TLC also paid tribute to Sean.
Rest in peace, Sean. ❤️#My600lbLife https://t.co/Bs53aQ9e10
