1. Eat Healthy: If your baby is not getting the vitamins and minerals it needs, it can cause learning disabilities, make it more difficult to learn to speak, can slow down development of motor skills, and even cause a lower IQ. Eat those fruits and vegetables!

2. Skip the Stress: Babies feel what you’re feeling. Early on in your pregnancy, too much stress can cause congenital malfunctions of the brain. Don’t even let this news stress you out.

3. Read to the Baby: Babies are listening while they’re in the womb. By reading to the baby, you can give your child a head start when it comes to memorizing and understanding the sounds they’re hearing.

4. Listen to Music: Music can unlock serotonin, making unborn babies calm and comfortable. When they come out of the womb, listening to music can be a reminder of those content days in your belly and help them calm down.

5. Exercise: When you get that “runner’s high” (even if you’re not running), your baby gets it too. Exercise gets blood flowing around the womb, jump starting your baby’s development. This can mean an increase the number of neurons in the part of the brain that controls learning and memory.

6. Soak Up the Sun: Just as you need to eat healthy, you need to be processing Vitamin D. Humans need 20 minutes of sunlight a day to process the Vitamin D that comes through your healthy diet.

7. Touch Your Bell: This seems so simple, right? All in all, babies in and out of the womb crave interactions. Reading, touching your belly, listening to music, eating a varied and healthy diet, all of these things are stimulating to the child and will expose them to information and give them a head start on a healthy life.
