17-Year-Old Prays That Someone Will Adopt Him Before Time Runs Out ‘Anyone Who Will Take Me’

Many people don’t realize that it is possible to age out of the foster care system but a young man named Haven finds himself in that situation.

The 17-year-old hails from Oklahoma City. He is passionate about joining the military someday and is even part of the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps. In his words, he wants to be “a part of something bigger than myself and to serve my country.”

For the past five years, he has been in DHS custody and he has a dream of being adopted. He is living in a shelter with four other children and we can only imagine how frustrating the situation is.

When he has his drivers’ permit, he feels that it would give him a sense of confidence and independence. As of October 2019, Haven will be 18 years old. He is looking to find a role model who will guide him and offer support as he enters into adulthood. On a very basic level, he simply wants “anyone who will take me.”

You can learn more about adopting Haven by contacting Tom Peterson at (405) 325-9398.
