Redheads are often the target of ginger jokes, but recently there is an opportunity that might start to turn opinions around fast.
There is a search on for “red hot” gingers across Europe that are wanted for a 2020 calendar shoot in Ibiza, and there will probably be some nudity involved.
Photographer Thomas Knights and art director Elliott James Frieze have already sourced themselves half a calendar’s worth of sizzling gingers, so if you’re a hot redhead who wants one of the remaining six places, you’ll have some still competition. You will also have to fit certain criteria – mainly being hot ginger.
If you check the project’s Kickstarter funding page, it will read, “Now in its 7th year, Red Hot heads to the Balearic Isles bringing together the hottest ginger guys from across Europe for one beautiful calendar for 2020. As we enter a new decade, it’s time for Red Hot European Boys to roar into action. We are looking for six more ginger guys from across Europe to join BK, James, Pablo, Jordan, Nicola and Dom in the 2020 calendar. Be athletic and have an awesome personality, and of course natural red hair. Also be available to shoot in Ibiza in early June.”
You’ll have to be comfortable baring a bit of that chiseled body of yours, as the funding page states that the calendar will include “nudity” – though not explicit, “gorgeous bodies”, and “beach bums”.
If you’re wondering what the calendar is for, it will be in aid of the Terrence Higgins Trust, a charity whose aim is to help end HIV transmission in the UK. It is hoping to raise £12,725. If baring it all on the beach isn’t quite your thing, you can still help the cause and donate towards the project, which will entitle you to your very own calendar copy, as well as some Red Hot undies.
Red Hot has raised thousands for charity over the years with its books and calendars, more recently through the “Red Hot British Boys 2018” calendar, as well as the “Red Hot American Boys 2019” calendar.
If you are truly interested in a chance to be featured in the “Red Hot European Boys 2020” calendar, all you have to do to enter is snap a couple pictures of yourself wearing a pair of Red Hot underpants and message them directly to Red Hot via their Instagram page.
