San Francisco has risen up the rankings of America’s most expensive cities to live in and this rise has happened quickly. While most would consider New York City to be the nation’s most expensive city, this is no longer true. In order to live comfortably, a resident will need to make at least $123,000 per year. This is a startling figure that only becomes more mind numbing the more you think about it.
These figures have driven a sizable number of residents out of their homes. This gorgeous city should be home to a wide range of people but times have changed. Now, only the only most wealthy can afford to provide for themselves in this location and there are far too many homeless people in the same area. This leads to an increase in crime and causes many to become desperate.
As soon as any visitors step outside of the tonier areas of the city, they are confronted with these harsh realities. Rent prices continue to skyrocket and cause a great deal of panic. Thousands of homeless people are left to roam the streets with no ability to feed or clothe themselves. In many cases, they were priced out of their existing residence.
The sheer numbers are staggering. With over 7,000 homeless people currently wandering the streets, this places San Francisco in the national top ten when it comes to the homeless population. As anyone would expect, the mass amount of homeless people who are concentrated in one area tend to cause a variety of problems that are not easy to solve.
The Gubbio Project aims to help out by providing the homeless with locations where they are able to sleep. There are two different locations that have been provided and each of them houses 225 people per night. No sign ins are necessary. Guests also receive other forms of care that they find themselves in need of. The care and kindness that is offered is boundless.

There are simply too many people out there who are in need of our assistance and have yet to receive it.
