Stories like these make us wonder about the presence of a higher power. There is very little explanation for them otherwise. This is the story of Loki and Nathan. The two have been the best of friends for years now. Nathan brought the cat home with him three years ago and they became pals immediately.
“He likes to jump on my lap and cuddle with me. He’s very lovable.”
Loki is the sort of cat who cannot resist exploring the surrounding areas as well. This is the sort of relationship that they had. Nathan could let Loki wander around because he always trusted him to come back home once he was done with his daily roaming. Sadly, the two were separated recently. Nathan feared that he would never see his friend again.
He spotted a black lump on the road while he was driving home. Nathan’s heart immediately sank down into his toes. This is the moment that every outdoor cat owner fears the most. His worst fears had come true. His cat was dead and there was absolutely nothing that he could do about it. Loki was gone forever and Nathan would have to move on.
This is how it seemed at first but this story comes with quite the epic twist. The family had a funeral for Loki, burying him in a quiet part of his girlfriend’s yard. They said their goodbyes, had a good cry and laid their old friend to rest. Nathan thought that this was the end of the story. Little did he know what was about to happen next.
As it turns out, all of this sadness was a bit premature. The next morning, Nathan was greeted with some amazing news. Loki had returned, as if nothing had happened. It was just like the good old days again. Loki got back from his stroll and headed back home to see his pal Nathan. As you might have imagined, Nathan was at a loss for words.
It seems that Nathan may have simply buried a cat that looked very similar to his own. He is looking to let the other family know what has taken place. In the meantime, he is just trying to get over the sheer disbelief. We cannot imagine how he must have felt after having to bury the animal that he loved so dearly.
