Dog With Wobbler Syndrome Makes Miraculous Recovery

The couple in this story went through a very difficult experience with their dog and we are more than happy to share this story with our readers. You see, this is not the story of how a sad experience shaped a family. This is a story of triumph, a story of resilience. It all began when these puppy parents got married and left for their honeymoon.

This seems innocent enough, right? They left the dog with the proper caretakers and set off to enjoy their special moment. When they got back, they received news that stopped them dead in their tracks. Athena, the dog that they loved so dear, was no longer able to walk in the same manner that she had become accustomed to. It broke their hearts to see the old girl like that.

Just imagine how you would feel if you woke up one day and no longer had the ability to walk. It would be a tough pill to swallow, for sure. This family knew that they had to help their dog, though. When Athena was taken to the animal hospital, the doctors gave her family some bad news: she had been diagnosed with Wobbler syndrome. In most cases, dogs with this ailment never walk again.

The family prepared themselves for the absolute worst initially. This is an understandable impulse. They simply wanted to make sure that Athena was going to be okay. The doctors said that even the more mild cases tend to be hopeless, so the family prepared themselves accordingly. However, they were not going to give up on her. They would do whatever it took.

The family learned about a specialized surgery that was designed to help dogs like Athena. While they decided to keep their hopes at a minimum, they were not going to lose their dog without pulling out all of the stops first. What a commendable decision. Now, it seems as if their decision is paying off. We do not wish to spoil the rest of the story, though.

Be sure to check out the clip below and find out more about Athena’s awesome recovery story. Some families may have decided to give up on a dog in this predicament. Athena’s family was not willing to do so. We wish them the very best of luck on their next steps and hope that they never have to go through something like this again.
