While there are some dogs that can be trained for just about any job that they set their minds to, there are other dogs who are not as fortunate. The German Shepherd in this story happens to fall into the second category. Ryker came to the Double H Canine Training Academy and his instructors were expecting the training process to be a total breeze.
Most dedicated professionals do not have any difficulty in this regard. The training process is usually not very complex. The process can be long but once it is complete, the dogs are able to read their humans in a whole new way. This special training school was ready to help Ryker but he had other ideas. According to this school, every dog is able to be trained.
Ryker decided that he would be the one to snap this streak. Becoming a service dog is not always as simple as it seems. There is much to be learned outside of the basic commands. The dog needs to know how to provide the proper emotional assistance. They must learn how to tell when their owner is feeling depressed or is experiencing a moment of distress.
The service dogs can also assist with various household tasks, such as turning off the lights. Ryker was being taught how to retrieve a water bottle when he decided that it would look better on the floor. He chewed through the bottle and created quite a mess in the process. The staff at the school decided to take a different approach.
They knew that Ryker was not going to be easy to train. When Ryker was given the chance to help someone who needed a walker, he was more interested in playing with the tennis balls at the bottom. When it was his turn to learn how to open a fridge, he was too excited and pulled on the handle so hard, he nearly topped the entire thing in one fell swoop.
The trainers could not help but to laugh at what took place. While he may never be a perfect service dog, he is happy and willing to pitch in where he can. That is what is most important, right? If you would like to check out all of Ryker’s hilarious antics for yourself, be sure to check out the clip below and pass it along to your friends and loved ones.
Every dog has a purpose ????. Clearly Ryker’s purpose is not to be a service dog. Check out this video documenting his good hearted attempt ????. Disclaimer: This Training was attempted by trained professionals ????do not try at home #jesus
