You probably know Jason Momoa as either Khal Drogo or Aquaman, depending on your fandom. Either way, you’ll probably not have seen him without his beard as either character.

However, the ruggedly-handsome Momoa has recently shaved off his trademark beard and now looks very, very different.

The actor shared a video to Instagram of him shaving off the beard, and it was the first time that he’s taken a razor to his face since 2012. His bold choice was motivated by him trying to bring awareness to the importance of recycling in the face of current plastic pollution.

Even without the beard, there’s no denying he’s still pretty good-looking.

While there isn’t a direct correlation between shaving a beard and preserving the planet, there is something to be said in Momoa’s success in achieving his goal of raising pollution awareness – all eyes were definitely on him and his signature beard.

Hopefully now he’ll grow it back.
