While Keanu Reeves’ career might be a bit on the back burner after the end of the Matrix trilogy, he’s still quite a presence, being very recognizable for his “Sad Keanu” meme. And after a recent photo has surfaced and gone viral of him sitting alone on a public bench, we suspect that there will be more Keanu memes coming down the pipeline.
While “Sad Keanu” has become such an integrated part of internet culture, the real Keanu has spoken out about the viral fame in an interview saying, “Do I wish I hadn’t got my picture taken while I was eating a sandwich on the streets of New York?” the actor said. “Yeah.”
In recent years following the “Sad Keanu” the actor has gained a strong cult following due to the popularity of the John Wick series and is doing pretty well. He’s even been giving back to others as well.

Over the weekend, the actor was on a United Airlines flight from San Francisco to Burbank, but the plane had to make an emergency landing in Bakersfield. This left him about 100 miles off his destination. While some might expect Reeves to hire a car service and leave, he instead joined the rest of the regular people on the flight and tried to find a working solution for everyone.

Naturally, he was the center of attention, but he still managed to get down to business, with everyone heading out in a minibus after Reeves asked them all to “hit the road” with him rather than wait hours. It didn’t stop there, on the drive he entertained everyone by providing them with trivia on the area they were driving through, and even found a specific local brand of country music for them to listen to on their mini road trip.

At the end of it all, Keanu shook hands with one of the departing passengers, saying “it was a pleasure to meet you”. Soon after he was dropped off before straying into a Carl’s Jr.
